We Don't Send Learners to Test Just to “Give It a Go”

There's an important principle behind our Pass Promise. - At Drive It, we don't believe a driving test should be used to find out whether you're ready.

You should already be ready before you get there.

Our instructors work with learners to develop the skills, confidence and independent decision-making needed to drive safely without somebody sitting beside them telling them what to do.

As your test approaches, we'll look at the whole picture.

Can you drive independently?
Can you recognise and respond to hazards?
Can you make safe decisions without prompting?
Can you deal with mistakes without allowing them to develop into something more serious?
Can you cope when something unexpected happens?

And, most importantly: - Would your instructor be comfortable with you driving independently after you pass?

Because that's the standard that really matters.

First-Time Passes Are Great – But Safe Drivers Matter More

Passing first time isn't the only measure of a good driver.

Someone can be an excellent, safe driver and still make one unfortunate mistake during a 40-minute driving test.

What Happens If I Don't Pass First Time?

Firstly, don't panic. - Not passing a driving test doesn't suddenly make you a bad driver.

Your instructor will go through what happened with you and use the examiner's feedback to identify anything that needs further work.

We'll then concentrate on getting you properly prepared for your next attempt.

And for eligible learners covered by our Pass Promise, Drive It will cover the DVSA practical test fee for that second attempt, in accordance with our terms and conditions.

That's one less thing for you to worry about.

Weekly, Semi-Intensive or Intensive – The Standard Doesn't Change

Everyone learns differently.
Some learners prefer regular weekly driving lessons.
Others want to make faster progress with several lessons each week.
